So Bryan (my roommate) and I decided to start a thing called Sound Clash. What is a "Sound Clash"? Creative thought pushed, pulled and morphed beyond the limits of comprehension while confronted head on with the harsh realities of rules and time frames.... or, making music according to some predefined parameters.
Check out each track and then leave a comment! Be sure to indicate which track you liked best and, if possible, tell us why... then we can quit our day jobs and get to being superstar dj's :)

I hate rules and the whole formal tone that goes along
with them but we've gotta lay some down here or it'll
be chaos.
1. Read the Clash descriptions and obey all the of the rules, especially the time limit!
2. Don't use previous work, i.e. pre-made tracks, loops or samples
3. Submit your track by the submission date
4. Follow the Track Submission Check List
Track Submission Check List
A. Track doesn't exceed 4 minutes
B. MP3 - 128kbps - NO VBR (Variable Bit Rate)
C. Track Title - Any other tags will be edited to preserve anonymity
D. Track Picture - JPG - 1meg or smaller (it best not be a picture of you - unless really distorted - this is so mom doesn't feel obliged to vote for you)
E. email your track and accompanying picture to gregsamborski@gmail.com
Voting
1. Don't vote for yourself - DO vote for someone else!
-Include some commentary beyond "I liked it" or "it's not really my style". Try to be specific and constructive in your comments like "I thought the track had a great melody but the base drum was over-powered and distorted"
2. Spread the word but keep your cover
-The more people you send to vote the better, but try to keep it a secret who made each track, this way people are truly voting with their ears. After 15 days the authors will be reviled and you can take credit. Also, invite your friends to contribute.
3. Don't get bent out of shape about winning or loosing, that's really not what this is about. This is about pushing yourself as an artist and showing creativity even while working within constraints. The vote is of little value where as the commentary is invaluable.
